Pere was at the Bancaja Aspar Team 2008 Presentation, held at the Hippodrome de la Zarzuela in Madrid on February 25th, along with fellow 125cc riders Gabor Talmacsi and Sergio Gadea, and 250cc crew Alvaro Bautista and Hector Faubel.
Pere’s the youngest of the team of course, and the newbie - and seems to be looking forward to a challenging first season...

Pere completed a total of 17 laps yesterday with a best time of 1'52 "188.

"With the wet track we did not want to leave until the afternoon session.

Possible Date For Aspar Presentation?

Did you wonder what was going on when the 125 squad was a no-show at the Mapfre Master Aspar launch the other week?
I did... Last year the 250 and 125 squads were presented in one light-n-sound extravaganza.
Well, hopefully what we saw was really just to introduce the Mapfre company above all and to show their importance in the new red 250cc livery for Alvaro Bautista and Hector Faubel.

Still - I was wondering when we might see Pere...?!
Well if I've read/understood it correctly then I have seen mention (or rumour) on the web of a further Aspar presentation in Madrid on February 25th.
Whether this is just the 125s or both squads in a more 'team' event I don't know.
But hopefully it means we'll get to see Pere in his new colours ahead of the season start, which of course isn't too far away itself...

Anybody else know anything about this?

A Couple Of Recent Photos...

These are a couple of recent photos of Pere; during training in the gym, and out on track - which i have taken from the blog of Pere's trainer - Rafa who also trains, amongst others, Sergio Gadea and Hector Faubel. I think the magazine reference is to do with some press Rafa has had over his rider training programme...

Valencia - Monday Feb 4th - Pere Crashes?

Yahoo/Eurosport reports a "sizeable crash" for Pere at Valencia yesterday (04/02/08)...
Anybody else know any more info on this?

Here’s some post-test comments from Pere, as reported from DailyMotos - and poorly translated by me - where they say he has continued his work on the new bike and, although he is satisfied, he is conscious that there is still much work ahead:
